The 2023 Kitchen Design Trends We’re Watching Right Now

In 2023, designers and interior decorators are anticipating major trends in kitchen design, including improved technology, vibrant colors, and multipurpose areas. These themes are predicted to boost ease, comfort, and personal style in the kitchen. Experts predict six popular kitchen design themes for 2023. Do check out: kitchen design trends

Intelligent Technology

Smart technology in the kitchen is expected to grow, including wifi-connected appliances, voice-activated appliances, and smart touchless faucets. These appliances save time and energy, as they are more energy-efficient than older models and also appear to be amazon kitchen favorites.

Butler’s Provisions

Butler’s pantries, also known as sculleries, working pantries, or functional pantries, are expected to become popular in 2023. They can serve as extra food storage, specialized food prep areas, and covert coffee bars. Dimension Inc.’s president and CEO, David Kallie, predicts more disguised or secret butler’s pantries in the future. Customizable appliances mimic cabinets, and the secret butler’s pantry is a new concept in concealed kitchen design.

Backsplashes with Slabs

Slab backsplashes are replacing traditional white subway tile and zellige tile backsplashes with sleek, large-scale slabs. These continuous pieces can be coordinated with countertops or used as a focal point in the kitchen. Popular materials include granite, quartz, and marble. Clients are increasingly seeking slab backsplashes that extend to the ceiling, around windows, or range hoods. They are visually appealing and useful, as they provide a seamless, clean look and are easy to maintain due to no grout lines.

Organic Components

In 2023, the trend of integrating nature into the home is expected to continue, with natural stone countertops, eco-friendly materials, wood cabinetry, and metal accents becoming popular choices. Sierra Fallon, Lead Designer at Rumour Designs, predicts natural stone countertops will be a big trend, while Cameron Johnson, CEO and Founder of Nickson Living, believes the green revolution will emerge in both major and small ways.

Dining-Oriented Large Islands

Many homeowners are choosing bigger kitchen islands to facilitate dining and entertaining directly in the kitchen rather than a formal dining room because the kitchen is the heart of the home. According to Hilary Matt of Hilary Matt Interiors, this is a result of homeowners “redefining the spaces in our homes.” “Traditional kitchens are evolving into other parts of the home,” she says. I believe that larger—and possibly double—kitchen islands will be integrated in the coming year to enable greater entertaining and gathering places in the kitchen.”

Warm Colours Are Popular

In 2023, white will remain a popular kitchen color, but homeowners are increasingly seeking warmer tones and dramatic bursts of color. Organic and rich colors will be popular in all kitchens, replacing all-white cabinetry with warm, natural wood tones in both dark and light colors. White and grey will be significantly warmer than in past years, with creamy off-whites and soft greys emerging as a popular choices. Stacy Garcia, CEO and Chief Inspiration Offer at Stacy Garcia Inc. predicts that white and grey will be replaced by creamy off-whites and soft greys.
